Seventh edition for the festival "ViVi il verde
2020", promoted by Emilia-Romagna Region and based on the idea of the
Institute for Cultural Heritage. A conference, two contests, videos and
readings for the event, online this year because of the pandemic.
Three days of initiatives recently carried out, plus a path that will
also affect the month of December. The 2020 edition, concomitantly with the
annual Tree Festival, in live streaming on the IBC website, was characterized
by the investigation of the relationship between man and public green, also in
light of the ongoing medical emergency. After the conference: “Gardens, trees
... and us. Does the relationship between man and nature change?", the
award of the “ViVi il Verde" Prize to the three best videos received
following a call for participation. The programme then includes the vision of
the winners’ works and of the 20 videos received and the first 15 readings from
the short stories, which focus on trees and greenery, part of the "Written
in a garden" contest. A selection of the short stories received will also
be the subject of a publication in 2021.
"Born to enhance the many parks and public
gardens of Emilia-Romagna as an integral part of the cultural heritage - as the
Regional Councilor for Culture and
Landscape Mauro Felicori points out - the 2020 festival has opened to new
reflections on the relationship between man and nature, a theme that has taken
on a dramatic concreteness in the lives of us all, unable for the first time to
experience that far too obvious part of our daily landscape, namely parks,
gardens and greenery of our cities. The challenge is to believe that a stronger
attention to this common good can arise precisely out of this forced lack, for
its cultural and tourist conservation and enhancement ”.
The materials of the event are available on the Ibc Youtube channel.
